Note: In our work, and on our website, we use the words family, loved ones, caregiver, and caring circle interchangeably and acknowledge non-traditional "chosen" family and "community" as types of families. We strive to be an organization mindful of inclusion and connectedness. It is never our intention to exclude any persons, groups, race, religious sectors, ancestry, age, gender identity, abilities, or other in our speech, written work or any other means of communication. Please contact us if you have any concerns.

Upcoming Workshop: The Art of Saying Good-bye This workshop will provide a safe space to gather and begin an open dialogue on the subject of death. We will reflect on our attitudes toward end-of-life and death and explore what we would like others to remember about us. You are invited to write a letter of gratitude, forgiveness, remembrances, regret, or words of wisdom to a person in your life~a sort of good-bye note or famous last words. More details.
Pre-registration required. Death Conversations host Sushila Mertens, End-of-life doula, will be on hiatus for a bit. She is taking some time away from monthly Death Conversations for deep explorations and renewal of mind, body, and spirit!
Stay tuned for more from Sushila upon her return. Safe travels.

Full Circle of Living and Dying:
Advocates for end-of-life options. We stand up for you and lend a helping hand in after-death care choices. Keeping or bringing a loved one home after death is legal in every state for bathing, dressing, private viewing, and ceremony as the family chooses. Every state recognizes the next-of-kin’s right to custody and control of the body that allows the opportunity to hold a home vigil. Religious observations, family gatherings, memorials, and private events are not under the jurisdiction of the State or professionals in the funeral industry. (More) |
